How a film camera works
Aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and exposure
How to meter a scene
The differences between 35mm and 120 film
Color negative, black-and-white, and slide film
How to choose the right film stock
How to properly load and unload a 35mm camera
How to avoid light leaks, blank rolls, and accidental double exposures
What happens to film after it reaches the lab
How negatives are developed, scanned, and delivered

WORKSHOP FLOW

First 30 minutes: Film cameras, formats, and film stocks
Next 40 minutes: Exposure and light metering
Next 20 minutes: Loading and unloading demonstration
Next 45 minutes: Guided photo walk around downtown St. Pete
Final 15 minutes: Questions and film-processing walkthrough

A working 35mm camera, when available. Students requesting a loaner should reserve one during registration. Loaner cameras are subject to availability.
